Chipmunks started life in Weymouth during August 1991 and expanded into Dorchester on St. Valentines Day in 1994. Subsequently the Dorchester Nursery moved to larger premises in May 1997 in order to provide an improved standard of care and to house the Edgefield Out of School Club. In September 2004 the Weymouth Nursery moved to larger premises in order to meet local demands and to house Claylands Out of School Club.

Both properties have been professionally adapted in accordance with Local Authority regulations complying with the needs of both Ofsted and the Fire Department and the requirements for Environmental Health and Safety.

Weymouth and Dorchester Nurseries have large areas of grass for outside activities and large outside playgrounds which are especially useful when the grass is too wet or muddy. We are also really pleased with our activities hall in Dorchester which is ideal for energetic and noisy play when the weather does not allow us to go outside. Both Nurseries have outside play equipment, climbing frames, slides and sit on and ride toys.

The warm family atmosphere of Chipmunks properties has been retained to ensure that life at the Nursery is as close to the home environment as possible. We believe we are an essential link between home and full time education, making the transition between the two, so much easier for your children.

Both nurseries are organised to address the particular needs of the various age groups.
